Poem

Endless Shadows

The smoothness of your touch

The convulsions in my clutch

The silhouettes on my bed

The fragrance in my shirt

Replaced by

Tedium and monotony

and a carousel of memories

Makes me dizzy to think of the spin

lacks the pleasure and the thrill

Piece by piece, the picture keeps breaking apart

the one that held by beauty and your cigars

The smoke and soot that’s left behind are

Endless shadows of the past

Endless shadows in the dark

Written for the Tuesday Writing Prompt over at Go Dog Go Cafe. The words today are “endless” and “shadows.”
