In search of a world beyond discrimination

I kept marching

under the hot sun

in the desert

through the relentless intolerance and vileness

Sometimes in harmony and peace

other times with a lot of muffled screams

I kept marching, enduring many risks for the golden reflection was my reward

Lost many limbs, many souls, many smiles

self respect was always too expensive to be mine

But the closer I reached, the further it budged

the more I wanted to touch, the more it remained….

…..A MIRAGE…

a lie that there can ever be a world that sees beyond my color.
